Aim:
The main stay of the project is to design, mechanize and fabrication of a pneumatic automatic hand brake release for four wheelers.
Proposed System:
Here we are going to create a pneumatic automatic hand brake release for four wheelers which engages when the ignition key is turned off and it disengages the hand brake when the key is turned on. It uses pneumatics which is fast, cost effective and easy to maintain.
Advantages:
- One of the reasons why a pneumatic system is commonly used in industrial equipment is that it is intrinsically safe. It does not derive power or energy from electricity; hence, a pneumatic system will not produce sparks that could ignite gases and cause fires or explosions. Mining equipment, factory equipment, and other similar hazardous working environments benefit from using pneumatic systems.
- Atmospheric air is abundant and readily available, which makes the power source an infinite resource.
- A pneumatic system purges compressed air, automatically keeping the instrument clean and free from contaminants that can damage or prevent the system from working.
- A pneumatic system is easy to maintain and easy to use.
- Pneumatic systems are suitable for working environments exposed to radiation and high temperature, which makes pneumatics immune to most elements present in nature.
- A pneumatic system can also use other types of compressed gases. This is beneficial for applications where natural gas is the power source. Compressed natural gas may be used as an alternative power source for pneumatic instruments.
Abstract :
Hand brake is one of the most important component in vehicles. Conventional handbrake system works using a ratchet locking mechanism that will keep it engaged until a release button is pressed. Driver error can lead to accidents in which handbrake is not engaged. To overcome this, an Automatic Hand Brake engaging and disengaging system is proposed. The hand brake engagement and disengagement is done using a combination of rack & pinion arrangement and Solenoid Valve controller. An automatic brake system for a vehicle consists of an electric motor, related to the motor for transmission motion from the motor to a brake lever that pushes the restraint. This project provides a brand new idea style of the pneumatic parking brakes system that has straightforward and cheap characteristics. This project deals with coming up with and fabrication of pneumatic breaking system.
