Abstract
Buses are the foremost mode of road transportation. The design of the bus body depends mainly leading the performance constraint under various types of loading conditions. The model analysis and linear static analysis of an articulated urban bus body, carried out with the Finite Elements Method. The purpose of this work is to simulate and forecast the structural response of the bus body in terms of stress, strain and displacement, under several loading and constraining conditions. The present used material for structure is Alumimium. It is replaced with composite materials Kevlar Epoxy. The density of steel is more than that of composite materials, so by replacing with composites, the weight of the structure is reduced. Structural and Modal analysis is done on both the structures using two materials to determine the strength of the structure. The design of the bus body frame is done with CREO 2.0 and the analysis with ANSYS.
