Aim:

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  The aim of this project is to develop a secure and scalable Electronic Health Record (EHR) system using blockchain technology to protect privacy, ensure data integrity, and provide controlled access to patient health records.

Abstract:

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Blockchain technology is becoming increasingly important for improving the security of private information, especially in industries like healthcare. It offers several key features such as confidentiality, decentralization, security, and privacy—that help overcome some of the common challenges faced by traditional healthcare systems. These challenges include issues like phishing attacks, denial of service (DoS) attacks, and identity theft. These security threats can compromise sensitive patient data, leading to serious consequences. In response to these concerns, our project introduces a security solution designed specifically for healthcare applications. The solution uses several advanced technologies to address these challenges and improve overall data security. One of the core components of this solution is the integration of Decentralized Identity Management (DIDs), which helps with verifying the identities of users and ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to sensitive information.

Proposed System:

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  The proposed system leverages blockchain technology to enhance the security, privacy, and efficiency of healthcare data management by providing a decentralized, immutable platform for storing and sharing sensitive patient information. By addressing issues like phishing, denial of service (DoS) attacks, and identity theft, the system ensures that patient data is protected against unauthorized access while remaining accessible to authorized users. The integration of decentralized identity management (DID) allows for secure identity verification, while the use of blockchain’s immutability ensures the integrity of medical records. With faster transaction processing times and cost-effective scalability, the system offers a robust solution to modern healthcare data security challenges.

Advantages:

Enhanced Security: The use of blockchain’s decentralized structure and encryption ensures that patient data is secure and protected from cyberattacks and unauthorized access.

Improved Efficiency: The system processes transactions and data verification in an average time of 6.5 seconds, significantly reducing delays compared to traditional healthcare systems.

Cost-Effectiveness: By eliminating the need for expensive centralized infrastructure, the blockchain-based system reduces operational costs, making it more affordable for healthcare providers.
