Aim:
The Mainstay of the project is to develop a smart motorcycle security system using Raspberry Pi and IoT, ensuring enhanced theft prevention, real-time alerts, and accident detection. The system integrates advanced features like location tracking, photo capture, and power management for efficient and secure vehicle operation.
Introduction:
Vehicle security and accident detection have become critical aspects in modern transportation systems, with technological advancements providing innovative solutions to safeguard vehicles and drivers. This project proposes a Raspberry Pi-based Vehicle Security and Accident Detection System, integrating multiple sensors and modules to ensure a robust, smart, and efficient mechanism for vehicle safety.
The system utilizes a Raspberry Pi as the central processor, which acts as the brain of the setup, coordinating various components to achieve the desired functionality. A push button serves as the primary interface, allowing the user to control the vehicle’s engine and monitor its status. The system ensures that unauthorized access to the vehicle is detected and reported by leveraging a USB camera for capturing images and a Telegram bot for real-time alerts. In case of an unauthorized attempt to start the vehicle, the owner receives the location and a photo of the intruder, while a buzzer alerts the surroundings, effectively deterring theft.
Additionally, the system is equipped with a MEMS sensor for accident detection, which promptly alerts the owner in the event of a collision. For power management, the project simulates the use of two battery power sources, monitored by voltage sensors and managed through a two-channel relay to ensure uninterrupted operation. An LCD display provides a user-friendly interface, showcasing real-time updates on the vehicle’s status, including engine state, power source information, security alerts, and accident notifications.
By combining security, safety, and power management into a single, cohesive system, this project delivers an intelligent and scalable solution for modern vehicles, enhancing both driver experience and overall vehicle safety
Proposed System:
The proposed Raspberry Pi-based Vehicle Security and Accident Detection System is a comprehensive solution that integrates advanced security, real-time communication, accident detection, and power management into a single cohesive setup. Unlike existing systems, this solution leverages the Raspberry Pi as the central processor, enabling seamless coordination of sensors and modules for an intelligent and robust operation.
The system features a push button as the primary interface. A double press starts the vehicle’s engine by activating a DC motor through a motor driver, while a single press sends the vehicle’s location (via network IP) and captures an image of the person trying to start the vehicle using a USB camera. In case of unauthorized access, the system sends the location and photo to the owner’s Telegram bot, activates a buzzer, and alerts the surroundings.
Additionally, a MEMS sensor detects accidents, notifying the owner immediately. For power management, the system uses a two-channel relay to simulate switching between two battery sources and voltage sensors to monitor their levels. The entire process is displayed in real-time on an LCD, ensuring transparency and user awareness.
By integrating security, safety, and efficient power management, this system offers a smart, scalable, and user-friendly solution for modern vehicles, prioritizing safety and convenience
